New meeting format successful

At the October meeting, the Oklahoma Burglar & Fire Alarm Association saw immense success with the new meeting speaker format. This was the second monthly meeting in the new format: lunch, two guest speakers and a quick business meeting.

The meeting was well attended allowing us to move forward in building a stronger and more active Association.  The new meeting format is not only providing education and networking opportunities, but also raising money for the Association. We will continue featuring different vendors and their products along with giveaways.

At the last meeting, more than $100 in gift cards was given away by NMC, Linear and ADI.

During the business meeting, board members discussed creating decals for OKBFAA members to show they are approved by the state. This sets us apart from every run-of-the-mill alarm company out there. Also, we discussed solicitation of vendors to support the cost for the monthly e-newsletter.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, Nov. 2.  We will host Robert Forsythe with C&C Products.  He will be discussing crime deterrence using Speco CCTV.  Also speaking will be Ernie Quintana with PAR Products discussing U-Traq vehicle tracking and adding reoccurring monthly revenues to the bottom line.

The meeting will again be at Italiano’s at 4801 N. Lincoln Blvd.   The cost is $20 with $10 of that covering all you can eat pizza and pasta.
